Tarmac launches four new apprenticeship opportunities at Mountsorrel Quarry

Early careers opportunities now open at Mountsorrel Quarry (applications open Monday 12 January to Sunday 15 March 2026)

 

Tarmac has launched four early careers vacancies at Mountsorrel Quarry, offering local people the chance to gain practical experience and work towards recognised qualifications, and start building a long-term career in the construction materials industry.

 

Key dates: Applications are open Monday 12 January to Sunday 15 March 2026 (please note roles may close early if we receive a high volume of applications).

 

Roles available

 

Trainee Supervisor

Mineral Products Technician Higher Apprenticeship (Level 5), The University of Derby

 

A development role for those looking to take their first step into leadership, within Tarmac’s Contracting team. You will support the planning and delivery of surfacing and civil engineering schemes, supervising on-site activity and ensuring health and safety compliance. Training is delivered through dedicated block sessions, at the University of Derby with accommodation and travel covered.

 

Trainee Operative – Materials / Building Products (2 roles)

Mineral Processing Mobile and Static Plant Operator Apprenticeship (Level 2)

 

Hands-on roles supporting the production of essential construction materials. Day-to-day tasks may Include operating plant and equipment, completing basic maintenance and inspections, and contributing to safe, efficient operations on site. Training will be delivered through dedicated block sessions at our National Skills and Safety Park in Macclesfield, with accommodation and travel covered.

 

Trainee Sales Representative | Level 4 apprenticeship

Sales Executive qualification (Level 4)

 

An entry route into Tarmac’s commercial team focused on building strong customer relationships and developing core sales skills. You will help create customer quotations, confirm orders and provide customer service, while learning about products and sales processes through the Tarmac Commercial Academy.
