Employment

Mountsorrel Quarry

We currently employ over 300 people across the quarry, the Hub (our operational nerve centre) and Quorn House (the headquarters of our land and planning team). Leading each operation is a highly experienced and dedicated management team, many of whom have spent much of their careers at the quarry.

Many hundreds more are employed in the supply chain – including cleaners, explosive experts, quantity surveyors. There are 85 liveried hauliers based out of Mountsorrel that rely on the quarry for work, and there are a number of other hauliers.

Meet our apprentice, Mustafa!

Mustafa Malek is an Operations Management Apprentice and one of our five apprentices based at Mountsorrel Quarry. Born and raised in Leicestershire, he’s been on our apprentice programme for the past two years. A typical day for Mustafa involves team briefings, production planning and solving operational challenges. He balances this hands-on experience with university coursework, as part of his degree apprenticeship. Mustafa has gained a deep appreciation of the complexities of operations management, especially the collaboration needed across different departments.
