Tarmac’s Mountsorrel Quarry is proud to continue its support for local youth football club, Quorn Juniors, after agreeing to back the club for another three years.
The funding agreement meant the club was able to purchase new shirts for its 22 teams, making its sides among the best-dressed teams in Leicestershire.
With close allegiances to Tarmac’s Mountsorrel Quarry, Quorn Juniors FC is home to boys’ and girls’ teams at every age group of mini, junior and youth football. The club fields 22 teams in the Leicester League ranging from a development section of under 7s (non-competitive) up to and including under 18s.
Richard Webb, chairman at Quorn Juniors FC, said: “We are committed to developing a fully inclusive club in which no-one is left out. Our girls’ participation continues to expand rapidly, and we are even able to offer additional support to low-income families.
“Tarmac’s continued support and sponsorship is a massive help to the club and the community. It enables us to ensure grass-roots football is accessible to all.”
As well as the three-year agreement, Tarmac has contributed £6,000 for a container hut which is used as a shelter from inclement weather and a focal hub for the club.
Tarmac’s association with the club spans many years and the company was a main sponsor of the ‘Quornament’ – an annual tournament that used to draw football teams from across Leicestershire.
Robert Lees, area operations manager at Mountsorrel Quarry, said: “We have had a long and happy association with Quorn Juniors FC and have watched them grow within the local leagues.
“We are glad to be able to continue to support them and look forward to seeing all of their teams enjoy success on – and off – the pitch.”
