Tarmac’s Mountsorrel Quarry has recently donated gravel to Quorn Church Rooms to help tidy up an area at the side of the building.
The area was previously full of old bushes, that always needed to be weeded and maintained, along with being a receptacle for litter. The committee decided to improve the area by clearing the space and laying gravel.
Kim McDonald, committee member for the Quorn Church Rooms, said: “We are very grateful to Tarmac for its donation of gravel to help create a more attractive area at the church rooms. It was just wasted space before but now it is a far more appealing area for the community visiting the building.”
Rob Lees, operations manager at Mountsorrel Quarry, said: “It is great to see the local community taking pride in their surroundings, so we were happy to support the Quorn Church Rooms committee when they approached us about this project.“
Special thanks to A&V Squires who delivered the materials to the Church Rooms free of charge.
