Over the past few months, the team at Mountsorrel Quarry has produced a series of local interest articles, designed to inform neighbouring communities about various aspects of the quarry and its activities.
These articles have been published in the last four editions of Quorndon Village Life magazine and can also be found on our website.
We have decided its now time to find out just how much you have learnt by setting a quiz based on the first four articles.
The winner will receive a guided tour of the quarry for up to 4 people – plus the exciting opportunity to press the detonator to set off a rock-face blast. The prize will be awarded to the first correct completed quiz drawn out of the hat by the editor of the Quorndon Village Life.
Entry is open to all, except Tarmac employees or those of its affiliates and their close relatives – or any person connected to the quiz.
The competition closes at midnight on 28th August 2020.
The date of the winners’ site visit will be arranged at a suitable time in the future, subject to public health and other guidance.
So get your thinking caps on, read through all the articles to date and tick the right answers to the multiple-choice questions.
Once completed please email your answers to [email protected] or post the completed pages to Ruth Roll, on behalf of Tarmac, Wharfdale, Three Bridges Road, Long Buckby Wharf, Northants, NN6 7PP. You will need to include your name, address, phone number and/or email address.
The answers to the quiz can be found on our website in the news articles entitled – A new era at the quarry, Mountsorrel Quarry and the Local Environment, Ecology and Biodiversity and Time Moves On.
Good Luck!
