I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the bridge repair works at Bond Lane.
Before the country went into lockdown we were making good progress and I estimate that we probably have around a weeks’ worth of work left to complete.
The scaffolding has now been removed, with only the following jobs remaining:
- New sheeting to be installed
- Installation of the last few bridge deck plates
- General tidying up and landscaping
Unfortunately, due to the current situation with COVID-19, we are unsure when we will be able to get the contractor back on-site to complete the works.
Previously we estimated that the bridge would reopen around the 20th April, however, we will now look to get the bridge open as soon as possible once the current restrictions are lifted.
Once the job has been completed the repair work will need to be signed off by Leicestershire County Council before the road can be reopened.
We will keep you updated as things progress.
I appreciate your continued patience during this time.
