After coming out of lockdown, we are again starting to make progress on the repairs to the bridge on Bond Lane.

Over the past few months, the team at Mountsorrel Quarry has produced a series of local interest articles, designed to inform neighbouring communities about various aspects of the quarry and its activities.

We previously explained how the quarry team has moved forward by developing environmental monitoring and biodiversity programmes. This month, quarry operations manager Shane Tompkin and Engineering Manager Graham Darch, describe some of the operational and engineering changes over recent times.

As many of you will know, we have been working on the repairs to Bond Lane bridge since Summer 2019. Unfortunately, it has hardly stopped raining since we started, leading to significant delays in the project as our contractors moved off-site to alternative, drier contracts.
