Tarmac’s Mountsorrel Quarry is helping Leicestershire County Council to deliver greener roads with the biggest supply to date of a new rubberised asphalt, for the resurfacing of the A426 Blaby Bypass.

Tarmac’s Mountsorrel Quarry has recently donated a large piece of granite to the Woodhouse WW2 Aircrew Memorial project. The stone will be used as a memorial to remember those who lost their lives in a Wellington Bomber Crash in World War Two.

Tarmac has donated two bulk bags of 10-millimetre granite to Quorn in Bloom to extend their scree area at Church View Garden, Leicestershire. Quorn in Bloom is made up of several volunteers who support the wellbeing of the community, as well as protect and encourage new species of local wildlife.
At the end of 2020, employees at Tarmac’s Mountsorrel quarry pulled together to support a local charity with food and other essential supplies.
Tarmac has teamed up with Leicestershire charity Warning Zone to offer one lucky winner the chance to visit the quarry and push the button to activate its famous blast.
